Blistered Green Beans with Spicy Chile Sauce

Ingredients
Kosher salt
2 pounds
Green beans (trimmed)
1/4 cup
Garlic oil (recipe bellow)
2 tablespoons
Red chile paste, such as gochujang
1 tablespoon
Honey
FOR THE GARLIC OIL:
1/2 cup
Olive oil
2 cloves
Garlic (crushed)
Step by Step Instructions
- Preheat oven to broil. Bring a pot of water to a boil on the stove and season it with salt. Prepare a bowl of ice water.
- Submerge the green beans in the boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain the water and immediately submerge the beans in the ice water. Drain the ice water and pat the beans dry.
- Put the olive oil and garlic into a saucepan and heat to medium-low. Let the garlic cook for 5 minutes (reduce heat if necessary, do not burn the garlic). Remove the pan from the heat, then discard the garlic once it has cooled.
- Combine the prepared garlic oil, chile paste, honey and salt in a bowl. Add the green beans and toss to combine
- Spread the green beans across two baking sheets and broil for 5 to 7 minutes, then serve.
